(194) بَابُ الرُّخْصَةِ فِي الشُّرْبِ فِي الطَّوَافِ
Chapter: Permission to drink during tawaf
Hadith Q2750
إِنْ ثَبَتَ الْخَبَرُ؛ فَإِنَّ فِي الْقَلْبِ مِنْ هَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ، وَأَنَا خَائِفٌ أَنْ يَكُونَ عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ أَوْ مَنْ دُونَهُ وَهِمَ فِي هَذِهِ اللَّفْظَةِ أَعْنِي قَوْلَهُ: فِي الطَّوَافِ
Provided that this hadith is proven authentic, because my heart is not satisfied with this chain of narration. I fear that either Abdul Salam or a narrator of a lower rank than him has made a mistake regarding these words: "during the Tawaf."
Hadith 2750
حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو غَسَّانَ مَالِكُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ دِرْهَمٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ السَّلامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، " أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ شَرِبَ مَاءً فِي الطَّوَافِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) drank water during Tawaf.
