Hadith 2742
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَوْلا حَدَاثَةُ عَهْدِ قَوْمِكِ بِالْكُفْرِ لَنَقَضْتُ الْبَيْتَ ، فَبَنَيْتُهُ عَلَى أَسَاسِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، فَإِنَّ قُرَيْشًا اسْتَقْصَرَتْ فِي بِنَائِهِ ، وَجَعَلَتْ لَهُ خَلْفًا " ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : يَعْنِي بَابًا آخَرَ فِي خَلْفٍ ، ثَنَاهُ سَلْمُ بْنُ جُنَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، بِهَذَا مِثْلَهُ ، وَلَمْ يَقُلْ : لِي
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If your people had not recently come out of disbelief and embraced Islam, I would have demolished the House of Allah and rebuilt it upon the foundations of Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Because the Quraysh, when constructing it, had made its foundations smaller, and I would have made a door at the back of the noble Ka'bah." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the meaning of "Khalf-an" is, he would have made another door at the back. Salm bin Junadah narrated this from Abu Muawiyah from Hisham, but in it, the word "li" (for me) is not mentioned.

When the one performing tawaf around the structure of the House leaves the Hijr behind him, he is not performing tawaf around the entire Kaaba, since part of the Hijr is from the Kaaba, as the Mustafa (peace and blessings be upon him) informed. And Allah—Mighty and Majestic—commanded tawaf around the Ancient House, not part of it.
Hadith 2742
