Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: "Indeed, the circumambulation (Tawaf) of the Sacred House is like prayer, except that you are permitted to speak during it. Therefore, whoever speaks should only speak good and virtuous words." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that the Prophet (peace be upon him) ordered, during Tawaf, the person who was making another man perform Tawaf by putting a leather rope in his nose, that he should make him perform Tawaf by holding his hand. This hadith is also related to the chapter of speaking good and excellent words. I have mentioned this hadith in another chapter. (See Hadith number 2751)
