(180) بَابُ فَضْلِ اسْتِلَامِ الرُّكْنَيْنِ وَذِكْرِ حَطِّ الْخَطَايَا بِمَسْحِهَا
Chapter: Virtue of touching the two corners and erasing sins by wiping them
Hadith 2729
حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ ، يَقُولُ لابْنِ عُمَرَ: مَا لِيَ لا أَرَاكَ تَسْتَلِمُ إِلا هَذَيْنِ الرُّكْنَيْنِ الْحَجَرَ الأَسْوَدَ ، وَالرُّكْنَ الْيَمَانِيَّ ، فَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ: إِنْ أَفْعَلْ فَقَدْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ: " إِنَّ مَسْحَهُمَا يَحُطُّ الْخَطَايَا " .
It is narrated from Ubaid bin Umair that he asked Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), "What is the reason that I see you only touching the Hajar Aswad and the Yemeni Corner?" So Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) replied, "If I only touch these two corners, (the reason is that) I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, 'Touching these two corners is a cause for the forgiveness of sins.'"
Hadith 2730
حَدَّثَنَاهُ يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ . ح وحَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ الزَّعْفَرَانِيِّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمِثْلِهِ .
A narration similar to the above-mentioned hadith is reported from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both).
