Hadith Q2708
Then that reason comes to an end, but the Sunnah of the Prophet remains until the Day of Judgment, because the Noble Prophet (peace be upon him) initially performed ramal and idtiba‘ to show the strength and power of himself and his companions to the polytheists. (Then the polytheists in Makkah were eliminated), but both Sunnahs of ramal and idtiba‘ will remain until the Day of Judgment.
Hadith 2708
Hazrat Zaid bin Aslam narrates from his esteemed father that he said: I heard Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) saying: "Now, for what reason is there to perform ramal (walking briskly with shoulders uncovered) and to uncover the shoulders, when Allah Almighty has granted strength and power to Islam, and it has spread all around, and disbelief and disbelievers have been eradicated? However, even then, we will not abandon any such act which we used to do with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)."
