Hadith 2625
Hazrat Khallad bin Sa’ib narrates from his esteemed father, Sayyiduna Sa’ib (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said, ‘Command your companions to raise their voices while reciting the Talbiyah.’” In the narration of Ahmad, the words are “with Ihlaal and Talbiyah.” (Both mean to call out the Talbiyah.)

Hazrat Ja'far narrates from his respected father, who says that we presented ourselves before Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him), and we asked him about the Hajj of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). So he said that the Prophet set out for the journey of Hajj until his mount took him to the place of Bida’, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) raised his voice and proclaimed these words of Tawheed « لَبَّيْكَ اللَٰهُمَّ لَبَّيْكَ، لَبَّيْكَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ لَبَّيْكَ، إِنَّ الحَمْدَ وَالنِّعْمَةَ لَكَ وَالمُلْكَ، لاَ شَرِيكَ لَكَ »: “O Allah, I am present in Your court, I am steadfast in Your worship. I am present in Your court for Your obedience. You have no partner. O Allah, I am present in Your service. Surely, all praise and glory are worthy only of You. All blessings are in Your control. Sovereignty is Yours. You have no partner.” While the noble Companions would add the words “Dhul-Ma‘arij” (O Possessor of the stairs), and the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), even after hearing these words, would not say anything to them.
