92 Subchapter: Recommending stopping in the valley of Dhul-Hulayfah
Hadith 2616
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا الْخَضِرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شُجَاعٍ ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عُقْبَةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَتَى وَهُوَ فِي مُعَرَّسِهِ فِي ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ ، فَقِيلَ : " إِنَّكَ بِبَطْحَاءَ مُبَارَكَةٍ " ، قَالَ مُوسَى : وَقَدْ أَنَاخَ بِنَا سَالِمٌ بِالْمَنَاخِ الَّذِي كَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يُنِيخُ بِهِ يَتَحَرَّى مُعَرَّسَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَهُوَ أَسْفَلُ مِنَ الْمَسْجِدِ الَّذِي بِبَطْنِ الْوَادِي بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الطَّرِيقِ وَسَطًا مِنْ ذَلِكَ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a messenger (angel) came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) (or he saw a dream) while he was staying at Dhu’l-Hulayfah at night for rest. It was said to him that he was staying in a blessed field. In the narration of Musa, Hazrat Salim made us stay at the place where Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to stay. And he used to search for the place where the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stayed at night. That place is located in the middle of the valley below the mosque of Dhu’l-Hulayfah, exactly between the mosque and the road.
