54 Subchapter: Bidding farewell to places with prayer
Hadith 2568
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي صَفْوَانَ الثَّقَفِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ السَّلامِ بْنُ هَاشِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ الْكَاتِبُ ، وَكَانَ لَهُ مُرُوءَةٌ وَعَقْلٌ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لا يَنْزِلُ مَنْزِلا ، إِلا وَدَّعَهُ بِرَكْعَتَيْنِ "
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that whenever the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stopped at a place (during a journey) to rest, he would perform voluntary prayers before departing from there.
