45 Subchapter: Prohibition of sleeping on the road
Hadith 2556
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ الضَّبِّيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا عَرَّسْتُمْ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الطَّرِيقَ ، فَإِنَّهَا طَرِيقُ الدَّوَابِّ ، وَمَأْوَى الْهَوَامِّ بِاللَّيْلِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When you stop to rest during the last part of the night, do not rest on the road, for it is the path of animals and the refuge of insects."
Hadith 2557
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، بِمِثْلِهِ وَقَالَ : " إِذَا عَرَّسْتُمْ بِاللَّيْلِ فَاجْتَنِبُوا الطَّرِيقَ ، فَإِنَّهُ مَأْوَى الْهَوَامِّ بِاللَّيْلِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When you settle down to rest at night, do not sit on the road, because at night the road is a refuge for poisonous insects and creatures."
