Hadith 2536
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) set out (from Madinah Munawwarah to Makkah Mukarramah) in the year of the conquest of Makkah. After traveling some distance, the companions who were walking gathered around him and formed rows. They began to say among themselves that, to avoid the hardship of the journey, they should ask the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) to supplicate for them. So they submitted, "Traveling has become difficult for us and the distance is long." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Take help from brisk walking, for by brisk walking the distance will be covered quickly and you will feel light." The companions say, "So we did as he said, and traveling became easy for us and the feeling of fatigue also disappeared."
Hadith 2537
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that some of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) complained about the hardship of walking. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) called them and instructed: "Walk briskly." The companions say that when we walked briskly, we found it easy and comfortable.
