(143) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الْغَنِيِّ الَّذِي يَكُونُ الْمَسْأَلَةُ مَعَهُ إِلْحَافًا
143 Subchapter: Who is considered rich such that asking is persistent begging
Hadith 2447
حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبَانٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي الرِّجَالِ ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ غَزِيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ سَأَلَ وَلَهُ قِيمَةُ أُوقِيَّةٍ ، فَهُوَ مُلْحِفٌ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever possesses the value of an uqiyyah of silver (forty dirhams) and still begs, he will be counted among those who cling and persist in begging."
