(141) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّمَا فَضَّلَ صَدَقَةَ الْمُقِلِّ إِذَا كَانَ فَضْلًا عَمَّنْ يَعُولُ،

Hadith 2444
حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْغَافِقِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنِ اللَّيْثِ ، أَنَّ أَبَا الزُّبَيْرِ ، حَدَّثَهُ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ جَعْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " جَهْدُ الْمُقِلِّ ، وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he asked, "O Messenger of Allah, which charity is the best?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The charity given by a person of little means with difficulty is best. And begin by spending on your dependents first."
لَا إِذَا تَصَدَّقَ عَلَى الْأَبَاعِدِ وَتَرَكَ مَنْ يَعُولُ جِيَاعًا عُرَاةً، إِذِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَمَرَ بِبَدْءِ مَنْ يَعُولُ.
It is not better at that time when he gives charity to distant people while his own family and dependents are hungry and unclothed. Because the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has commanded to spend on one's own family and dependents first.
Hadith 2444
لَا إِذَا تَصَدَّقَ عَلَى الْأَبَاعِدِ وَتَرَكَ مَنْ يَعُولُ جِيَاعًا عُرَاةً، إِذِ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ أَمَرَ بِبَدْءِ مَنْ يَعُولُ.
It is not better at that time when he gives charity to distant people while his own family and dependents are hungry and unclothed. Because the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has commanded to spend on one's own family and dependents first.

Hadith 2445
وَحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَقِيرًا ، فَلْيَبْدَأْ بِنَفْسِهِ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فَضْلا فَعَلَى عِيَالِهِ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فَضْلا فَعَلَى قَرَابَتِهِ أَوْ ذِي رَحِمِهِ ، فَإِنْ كَانَ فَضْلا فَهُنَا وَهَهُنَا "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When any one of you is in need, he should spend first on himself. If any wealth remains, he should spend on his family. If more wealth remains, he should spend on his close relatives. If there is still surplus wealth, then he should spend on other needy people here and there."
