(127) بَابُ الْأَمْرِ بِأَدَاءِ صَدَقَةِ الْفِطْرِ قَبْلَ خُرُوجِ النَّاسِ إِلَى صَلَاةِ الْعِيدِ
127 Subchapter: Command to give zakat al-fitr before Eid prayer
Hadith 2421
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ يَحْيَى بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي فُدَيْكٍ ، عَنِ الضَّحَّاكِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَمَرَ بِإِخْرَاجِ زَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ ، قَبْلَ خُرُوجِ النَّاسِ إِلَى الصَّلاةِ " ، وَأَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ ، كَانَ يُؤَدِّي قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ بِيَوْمٍ وَيَوْمَيْنِ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered the giving of Sadaqat al-Fitr before the people go out for the prayer. And Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to give it one or two days before Eid al-Fitr.
