(118) بَابُ تَوْقِيتِ فَرْضِ زَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ فِي مَبْلَغِهِ مِنَ الْكَيْلِ.
118 Subchapter: Specifying the amount of zakat al-fitr by measure
Hadith 2404
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَزِيزٍ الأَيْلِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلامَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي نَافِعٌ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُخْرِجُ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ ، أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ " ، وَأَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : جَعَلَ النَّاسُ عَدْلَ الشَّعِيرِ وَالتَّمْرِ مُدَّيْنِ مِنْ حِنْطَةٍ
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he used to give one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley as Sadaqat al-Fitr. And Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that people considered two mudd (half a sa’) of wheat to be equal to one sa’ of barley or dates.
Hadith 2405
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ قَزْعَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ عُقْبَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يُخْرِجُ زَكَاةَ الْفِطْرِ بِالصَّاعِ مِنَ التَّمْرِ ، وَالصَّاعِ مِنَ الشَّعِيرِ " ، قَالَ : وَكَانَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، يَقُولُ : جَعَلَ النَّاسُ عَدْلَ كَذَا بِمُدَّيْنِ مِنْ حِنْطَةٍ
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to give one sa’ of dates or one sa’ of barley as Sadaqat al-Fitr. And Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) states that the people made one sa’ of dates and barley equal to two mudd (half a sa’) of wheat.
