(94) بَابُ إِعْطَاءِ الْإِمَامِ الْحَاجَّ إِبِلَ الصَّدَقَةِ لِيَحُجُّوا عَلَيْهَا
94| Chapter on the imam giving camels from zakat to pilgrims to ride for Hajj
Hadith 2377
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الطَّنَافِسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ ثَوْبَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي لاسٍ الْخُزَاعِيِّ ، قَالَ : حَمَلَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى إِبِلٍ مِنْ إِبِلِ الصَّدَقَةِ ضِعَافٍ لِلْحَجِّ ، فَقُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَا نَرَى أَنْ تَحْمِلَنَا هَذِهِ ؟ فَقَالَ : " مَا مِنْ بَعِيرٍ ، إِلا عَلَى ذُرْوَتِهِ شَيْطَانٌ ، فَاذْكُرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهَا إِذَا رَكَبْتُوهَا كَمَا أَمَرَكُمْ ، ثُمَّ امْتَهِنُوهَا لأَنْفُسِكُمْ ، فَإِنَّمَا يَحْمِلُ اللَّهُ "
Sayyiduna Abu Las Khuzai (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us some weak camels from the zakat camels for riding during Hajj. So we said, "O Messenger of Allah, in our opinion these camels are not fit for riding." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is a devil on the hump of every camel, so when you are about to mount, say 'Bismillah' as He has commanded you. Then make full use of them for your service. Indeed, it is Allah Almighty who grants you the ride (and makes these animals subservient to you)."
