جماع أبواب ذكر السعاية على الصدقةChapters on Collectors of Zakat
(62) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الدَّلِيلِ عَلَى أَنَّ التَّغْلِيظَ فِي الْعَمَلِ عَلَى السِّعَايَةِ الْمَذْكُورَ فِي خَبَرِ عُقْبَةَ هُوَ فِي السَّاعِي، إِذَا لَمْ يَعْدِلْ فِي عَمَلِهِ وَجَارَ وَظَلَمَ،
62| Chapter on the evidence that the warning applies to the collector if he is unjust and oppressive
Hadith Q2334
وَفَضْلِ السِّعَايَةِ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ إِذَا عَدَلَ السَّاعِي فِيمَا يَتَوَلَّى مِنْهَا، وَتَشْبِيهِهِ بِالْغَازِي فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ
And the explanation of the virtue of that tax collector who acts justly in his work, and the explanation of likening him to a warrior (ghazi) striving in the way of Allah.
Hadith 2334
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْوَهْبِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ لَبِيدٍ ، عَنْ رَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْعَامِلُ عَلَى الصَّدَقَةِ بِالْحَقِّ كَالْغَازِي فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ إِلَى بَيْتِهِ "
Sayyiduna Rafi' bin Khadij (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who collects Zakat with justice and fairness is like a warrior fighting in the way of Allah, until he returns to his home."
