(40) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الْبَيَانِ أَنَّ الزَّكَاةَ وَاجِبَةٌ عَلَى مَا زَادَ عَلَى الْمِائَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْوَرِقِ
40| Chapter on the evidence that zakat is due on what exceeds two hundred dirhams
Hadith 2297
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُجْرٍ السَّعْدِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَاتُوا رُبْعَ الْعُشُورِ مِنْ كُلِّ أَرْبَعِينَ دِرْهَمًا ، وَلَيْسَ فِيمَا دُونَ الْمِائَتَيْنِ شَيْءٌ ، فَإِذَا كَانَتْ مِائَتَيْ دِرْهَمٍ ، فَفِيهَا خَمْسَةُ دَرَاهِمَ ، فَمَا زَادَ فَعَلَى ذَلِكِ الْحِسَابِ "
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pay one dirham as zakat out of every forty dirhams, and there is no zakat on less than two hundred dirhams. Then, when it reaches two hundred dirhams, five dirhams are due as zakat, and whatever is more than that, zakat is obligatory on it as well at the same rate (one-fortieth part)."
