10| Chapter on the detailed report explaining hoarding
Hadith 2256
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْجَبَّارِ بْنُ الْعَلاءِ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ جَامِعٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ لا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاتَهُ ، إِلا جُعِلَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعٌ طُوِّقَ فِي عُنُقِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ عَلَيْنَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِصْدَاقَهُ مِنْ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ : سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ سورة آل عمران آية 180 "
Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Whoever does not pay the zakat of his wealth, then on the Day of Resurrection a snake will be made for him which will become a collar around his neck on the Day of Resurrection." Then the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited this verse of the Qur'an in confirmation of this: « سَيُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا بِهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ » [ سورة آل عمران : 180 ] "The wealth in which they were miserly, it will be made into a collar for them on the Day of Resurrection."
Hadith 2257
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو النَّضْرِ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبَّادٍ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَسَدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُوسَى ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ الْمَاجِشُونِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ الَّذِي لا يُؤَدِّي زَكَاةَ مَالِهِ يُمَثَّلُ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ شُجَاعٌ أَقْرَعُ لَهُ زَبِيبَتَانِ ، فَيَلْزَمُهُ أَوْ يُطَوَّقُهُ ، يَقُولُ : أَنَا كَنْزُكُ " ، هَذَا حَدِيثُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، وَقَالَ لَهُ الزَّعْفَرَانِيُّ , قَالَ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، وَقَالَ : فَيُطَوَّقُهُ أَوْ يَلْزَمُهُ
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Indeed, the person who does not pay the zakat of his wealth, (his wealth) will take the form of a bald snake for him, which will have two black spots over its eyes. It will cling to him or become a collar around his neck and will say, 'I am your treasure.'" This narration is from Ahmad bin Sinan, and Zafarani says that Abdullah bin Dinar told me that Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said, "So it will become a collar around his neck or it will cling to him."
