(5) بَابُ ذِكْرِ إِدْخَالِ مَانِعِ الزَّكَاةِ النَّارَ مَعَ أَوَائِلِ مَنْ يَدْخُلُهَا، بِاللَّهِ نَتَعَوَّذُ مِنَ النَّارِ
5| Chapter on those who withhold zakat being among the first to enter the Fire—may Allah protect us
Hadith 2249
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُوسَى مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي عَامِرُ الْعُقَيْلِيُّ ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ ، أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ ، سَمِعَ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " عُرِضَ عَلَيَّ أَوَّلُ ثُلَّةٍ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ ، وَأَوَّلُ ثُلَّةٍ يَدْخُلُونَ النَّارَ ، فَأَمَّا أَوَّلُ ثُلَّةٍ يَدْخُلُونَ الْجَنَّةَ : فَالشَّهِيدُ ، وَعَبْدٌ مَمْلُوكٌ أَحْسَنَ عِبَادَةَ رَبِّهِ ، وَنَصَحَ لِسَيِّدِهِ ، وَعَفِيفٌ مُتَعَفِّفٌ ذُو عِيَالٍ ، وَأَمَّا أَوَّلُ ثُلَّةٍ يَدْخُلُونَ النَّارَ : فَأَمِيرٌ مُسَلَّطٌ ، وَذُو ثَرْوَةٍ مِنْ مَالٍ لا يُؤَدِّي حَقَّ اللَّهِ فِي مَالِهِ ، وَفَقِيرٌ فَخُورٌ "
Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The first three people to enter Paradise and the first three people to enter Hell were shown to me. The first three to enter Paradise are: the martyr, the slave who worshipped his Lord well and was sincere to his master, and the third is the person who has many children, is chaste, does not beg from anyone. And the three people who will be the first to enter Hell are: the tyrannical and oppressive king, the wealthy person who does not give Allah's due (zakat) from his wealth, and the third is the poor person who is arrogant and proud."
