Hadith 2202
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِقِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَأْمُرَ فِيهِ بِعَزِيمَةٍ يَقُولُ : " مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا ، غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ "
Sayyiduna Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to command standing (in prayer) during Ramadan without making it obligatory or binding. He used to say, "Whoever stands (in prayer) in Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, his past sins will be forgiven."
