Hadith 2163
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ الْقَيْسِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَوْرُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ ، عَنْ أُخْتِهِ وَهِيَ الصَّمَّاءُ ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لا تَصُومُوا يَوْمَ السَّبْتِ ، إِلا فِيمَا افْتُرِضَ عَلَيْكُمْ ، وَإِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلا عُودَ عِنَبَةٍ ، أَوْ لِحَاءَ شَجَرَةٍ فَلْيَمْضُغْهَا "
Abdullah bin Busr narrates from his sister Samma that she stated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Do not fast only on Saturday, except for those obligatory fasts that fall upon you in that week, and if any of you finds only a grapevine or the bark of a tree, then he should chew it (and break his fast)."
Hadith 2164
حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ الصَّمَّاءِ أُخْتِ بُسْرٍ ، أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَقُولُ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ صِيَامِ يَوْمِ السَّبْتِ ، وَيَقُولُ : " إِنْ لَمْ يَجِدْ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلا عُودًا أَخْضَرَ فَلْيُفْطِرْ عَلَيْهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : خَالَفَ مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثَوْرَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ فِي هَذَا الإِسْنَادِ ، فَقَالَ ثَوْرٌ : عَنْ أُخْتِهِ ، يُرِيدُ أُخْتَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ ، قَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ : عَنْ عَمَّتِهِ الصَّمَّاءِ أُخْتِ بُسْرٍ ، عَمَّةِ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ ، لا أُخْتَ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ
Hazrat Samma reports that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade fasting on Saturday, and he (peace be upon him) said: "If any of you finds only a green twig, then he should break his fast with that." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Mu'awiyah bin Salih has differed from Thawr bin Yazid in this chain. Thawr, while narrating, has described Samma as the sister of Abdullah bin Busr, whereas Mu'awiyah has described Hazrat Samma as the sister of Busr and the paternal aunt of Abdullah.
