Hadith 2104
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَتْرُكُ الْعَمَلَ وَهُوَ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَفْعَلَهُ خَشْيَةَ أَنْ يُسْتَنَنَ بِهِ ، فَيُفْرَضَ عَلَيْهِمْ . وَكَانَ يُحِبُّ مَا خَفَّ عَلَى النَّاسِ مِنَ الْفَرَائِضِ "
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes abandon an action even though he liked to do it, out of fear that people would begin to perform it regularly and then it would be made obligatory upon them. And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) liked light and easy obligations for the people.
