Hadith 2092
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man from the tribe of Aslam: “Announce among your people or among the people on the day of ‘Ashura that whoever has eaten should fast for the rest of the day, and whoever has not eaten should observe the fast.”
Hadith 2093
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ , حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى , حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ , حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الأَكْوَعِ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ أَسْلَمَ : " أَذِّنْ فِي قَوْمِكَ أَوْ فِي النَّاسِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ أَنَّ مَنْ أَكَلَ فَلْيَصُمْ بَقِيَّةَ يَوْمِهِ , وَمَنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ أَكَلَ فَلْيَصُمْ " . خَبَرُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ , وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ , وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمِنْهَالِ الْخُزَاعِيِّ , عَنْ عَمِّهِ ، وَأَسْمَاءَ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ , وَبَعْجَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْجُهَنِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , كُلُّهُمْ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِهَذَا الْمَعْنَى , وَقَدْ خَرَّجْتُهُ فِي كِتَابِ الْكَبِيرِ
The narration of Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri, Muhammad bin Sayghi Ansari, Abdullah bin Minhal Khuza'i (may Allah be pleased with them) from his uncle, and the narrations of Asma bint Haritha and Sayyiduna Abdullah Juhani (may Allah be pleased with them) are related to the same issue. I have mentioned it in Kitab al-Kabir.
