Hadith 2076
حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى , وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ , عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ وَهُوَ ابْنُ عُمَيْرٍ , عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْتَشِرِ , عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ يَرْفَعُهُ . قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ أَيُّ الصَّلاةِ أَفْضَلُ بَعْدَ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ ؟ وَأَيُّ الصِّيَامِ أَفْضَلُ بَعْدَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ ؟ فَقَالَ : " أَفْضَلُ الصَّلاةِ بَعْدَ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ الصَّلاةُ فِي جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ , وَأَفْضَلُ الصِّيَامِ بَعْدَ رَمَضَانَ شَهْرُ اللَّهِ الْمُحَرَّمُ "
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he was asked: "Which prayer is the best after the obligatory prayers? And which fasts are the best after the fasts of Ramadan?" So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best prayer after the obligatory prayers is the prayer in the middle of the night (Tahajjud). And the best fasts after the fasts of Ramadan are the fasts of Allah’s month, Muharram."
