Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that a woman came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and said that her sister had passed away and she was liable for two consecutive months of obligatory fasting. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Tell me, if your sister had a debt, would you pay it off?" She replied, "Yes." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "Then Allah is more deserving that His right be fulfilled." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that only (A’mash) has narrated from Hakam and Salamah bin Kabeel.
