Hadith 1999
Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that one day I became happy upon seeing my wife, so I kissed her while I was fasting. Then I went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, today I have done a very great and dangerous act. I have kissed (my wife) while fasting." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Tell me, if you rinse your mouth with water while fasting, what would happen?" He says, I replied, "There is no harm in that." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: (Janab Rabi' says) I think he said, "Then what is the matter of concern?" (Then what is the harm in this?) Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that by 'Abdul Malik bin Sa'id' is meant Ibn Suwaid.
