Hadith 1897
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، أنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ سُهَيْلٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " كُلُّ عَمَلِ ابْنِ آدَمَ لَهُ ، الْحَسَنَةُ بِعَشْرِ أَمْثَالِهَا إِلَى سَبْعِمِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ ، قَالَ اللَّهُ : إِلا الصِّيَامَ ، فَهُوَ لِي ، وَأَنَا أَجْزِي بِهِ ، يَدَعُ الطَّعَامَ مِنْ أَجْلِي ، وَيَدَعُ الشَّرَابَ مِنْ أَجْلِي ، وَيَدَعُ لَذَّتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي ، وَيَدَعُ زَوْجَتَهُ مِنْ أَجْلِي ، وَلَخُلُوفُ فَمِ الصَّائِمِ أَطْيَبُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مِنْ رِيحِ الْمِسْكِ ، وَلِلصَّائِمِ فَرْحَتَانِ : فَرْحَةٌ حِينَ يُفْطِرُ ، وَفَرْحَةٌ عِنْدَ لِقَاءِ رَبِّهِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Every deed of the son of Adam is for him. The reward of a good deed is given from ten times up to seven hundred times. Allah Almighty says: Except for fasting, it is for Me and I alone will give its reward. The fasting person leaves food for My sake. He leaves drinks for My sake, and he leaves his desires for My sake, and he leaves benefiting from his wife for My sake. And the smell from the mouth of the fasting person is better in the sight of Allah than the fragrance of musk. And for the fasting person there are two occasions of happiness: one happiness is when he breaks his fast, and the other happiness he will attain at the time of meeting his Lord."
