Hadith 1896
It is narrated from Abu Salih Ziyad that he heard Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) say that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah Almighty says: Every deed of the son of Adam is for him except fasting — it is for Me and I alone will reward it. Fasting is a shield for him. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the smell from the mouth of the fasting person is more pleasant to Allah on the Day of Resurrection than the fragrance of musk. The fasting person has two joys: (1) When he breaks his fast, he is happy with his breaking of the fast. (2) When he meets his Lord, he will be happy because of his fasting."
