Hadith 1892
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ نَصْرِ بْنِ سَابِقٍ الْخَوْلانِيُّ ، نا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ ، عَنْ سَيْفِ بْنِ أَبِي سَيْفٍ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عِيَاضِ بْنِ غُطَيْفٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ بْنِ الْجَرَّاحِ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مَا لَمْ يَخْرِقْهُ "
Sayyiduna Abu Ubaidah bin Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "Fasting is a shield as long as the fasting person does not diminish or damage it."
