It is narrated from Abdullah bin Harith that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said to his muezzin on a rainy day: When you have said « وَأَشْهَدُأَنْمُحَمَّدٌرَسُولُٱللَّٰه », do not say « حَيَّعَلَىالصَّلَاةِ », but instead say the words « صَلُّوْفِيْبُيُوْتِكُمْ » "Pray in your homes." So it seemed that the people disliked this, so he said: Are you surprised at this, even though this action was also done by the one who is greater and better than me? Indeed, Jumu'ah is obligatory, and surely I disliked that I should make you come out (from your homes) and that you should walk in mud and clay (to the mosque).
