Hadith 1853
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، سَمِعَهُ مِنْهُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لِقَوْمٍ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنِ الْجُمُعَةِ : " لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ رَجُلا يُصَلِّي بِالنَّاسِ ، ثُمَّ أُحَرِّقَ عَلَى رِجَالٍ يَتَخَلَّفُونَ عَنِ الْجُمُعَةِ بُيُوتَهُمْ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding those who stay behind from Jumu'ah: "Indeed, I intended to order a man to lead the people in prayer, then I would go and burn the houses of the men who stay behind from Jumu'ah."
Hadith 1854
نا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ " بِمِثْلِهِ ، غَيْرَ أَنَّ يَحْيَى بْنَ حَكِيمٍ ، قَالَ : " تَخَلَّفُوا "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Indeed, I intended..." — he narrated the hadith similar to the one mentioned above. However, Yahya used the words "تَخَلَّفُوْا" (remained behind) instead of "يَتَخَلَّفُوْنَ".
