Hadith 1843
Imam Abu Bakr, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I have already written this hadith of Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, in the Book of the Two Eids, that the Friday prayer consists of two rak'ahs.
Sayyiduna Ali’s scribe, Janab Ubaydullah bin Abi Rafi’, narrates that Marwan used to appoint Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah as his deputy over Madinah Munawwarah. So he led the people of Madinah in prayer on Friday and recited Surah Al-Munafiqun « إِذَاجَاءَكَالْمُنَافِقُونَ ». So I said, “O Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, you have recited to us what Sayyiduna Ali used to recite to us in Kufa.” Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah replied, “I heard my beloved Abu’l-Qasim (ﷺ) recite these two surahs.”
Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his teacher Yahya bin Hakeem, through his chain, from Ja'far, that in the second rak'ah, Surah Al-Munafiqun « إِذَاجَاءَكَالْمُنَافِقُونَ » was recited.
