Hadith 1823
نا يُوسُفُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ ، " أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا , فَجَاءَتْ عِيرٌ مِنَ الشَّامِ , فَانْفَتَلَ النَّاسُ إِلَيْهَا حَتَّى لَمْ يَبْقَ إِلا اثْنَا عَشَرَ رَجُلا , فَأُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ الَّتِي فِي الْجُمُعَةِ : وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انْفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَائِمًا سورة الجمعة آية 11 "
Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was delivering a sermon while standing when a trade caravan arrived from Syria. So people (leaving you) went towards it, until only twelve men remained. Then this verse of Surah Al-Jumu'ah was revealed « وَإِذَا رَأَوْا تِجَارَةً أَوْ لَهْوًا انفَضُّوا إِلَيْهَا وَتَرَكُوكَ قَائِمًا » [ سورة الجمعة : 11 ] "And when they see a trade or amusement, they rush towards it and leave you standing."
