Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "When a person says to another person, 'Be quiet,' while the Imam is delivering the sermon, then he has done an idle and vain act." "Laghayta" is the wording of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him). Janab Makhzumi has narrated these words: "When you say to your companion, 'Be quiet,' on the day of Jumu'ah while the Imam is delivering the sermon, then you have done a useless and futile act." Imam Sufyan says that Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah's (may Allah be pleased with him) saying "Laghayta" is his personal wording, while the original word is "Laghowta." (The meaning is the same.)
