Hadith 1801
نا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْخُزَاعِيُّ ، نا زَيْدٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْحُبَابِ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ وَاقِدٍ , حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ , فَأَقْبَلَ الْحَسَنُ ، وَالْحُسَيْنُ عَلَيْهِمَا قَمِيصَانِ أَحْمَرَانِ يَعْثُرَانِ وَيَقُومَانِ , فَنَزَلَ فَأَخَذَهُمَا فَوَضَعَهُمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ , ثُمَّ قَالَ : " صَدَقَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، إِنَّمَا أَمْوَالَكُمْ وَأَوْلادُكُمْ فِتْنَةٌ رَأَيْتُ هَذَيْنِ فَلَمْ أَصْبِرْ " ، ثُمَّ أَخَذَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ
Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was delivering a sermon when Sayyiduna Hasan and Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) arrived. Both of them were wearing red shirts. They would stumble and fall due to their clothes getting entangled with their feet, and then get up again. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) descended from the pulpit and picked them up, then seated them in front of himself and said: "Allah and His Messenger have spoken the truth; indeed, your wealth and your children are a trial for you. I saw these two and I could not remain patient." Then he (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) resumed his sermon.
Hadith 1802
نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ، وَزِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو تُمَيْلَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ ، نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : بَيْنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ بِمِثْلِهِ , وَقَالَ : " فَلَمْ أَصْبِرْ حَتَّى نَزَلْتُ فَحَمَلْتُهُمَا " . وَلَمْ يَقُلْ : ثُمَّ أَخَذَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ
Sayyiduna Buraidah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: While the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) was delivering a sermon on the pulpit, he narrated as mentioned above. And the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "So I could not remain patient until I descended from the pulpit and picked up both of them." And these words were not narrated that then he started the sermon again.
