Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah used to praise Allah in a manner befitting His Majesty in his sermon, then he would say: "Whomever Allah guides, none can misguide him, and whomever He lets go astray, none can guide him. Surely, the best speech is the Book of Allah (the Noble Qur'an), and the best way is the way and conduct of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and the worst matters are those newly invented in the religion. Every newly invented matter is an innovation, and every innovation is misguidance, and misguidance leads to the Fire." Then he (peace be upon him) would say: "I and the Hour have been sent like these two fingers (close together)." And when he mentioned the Hour, his cheeks would become red, his voice would rise, and he would become extremely angry, as if he were warning against an invading army. The Hour may be established in the morning, the Hour may come at night. Then he (peace be upon him) would say: "Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his heirs, and whoever leaves behind debt or children, then it is my responsibility, and I will take care of them, and I am the guardian and friend of the believers." These are the words of the hadith of Ibn Mubarak. The wording of the hadith of Anas bin 'Iyad is different from this.
