Hadith 1779
Abu Hazim narrates that people differed regarding the pulpit of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), as to what it was made from. So they sent a person to ask Sayyiduna Sahl (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said: "There is no one left among the people who knows this matter better than me. It was made from the wood of the jungle tamarisk tree." Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says: "'Al-Athl' refers to 'At-Tarfa' (a tree similar to tamarisk)."
