Hadith 1758
Sayyiduna Aws bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said, and he mentioned Friday: "Whoever causes someone to bathe and himself bathes, and comes early in the first hour (for Friday), sits near the Imam, remains silent, and does not engage in any idle act, then for every step he takes, he will receive the reward of fasting and standing in prayer for one year." In the narration of Muhammad bin Alaa, the words "and he mentioned Friday" are not present, and in his narration, the words are "ghasala" (washed the head). The word "ghusl" is without tashdeed. In the narration of Ibn al-Darīs, it is stated that for him, a reward is written for every step. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that in the narration in which the words are "man ghassala wa ightasala," its meaning is that he made ghusl obligatory on his wife or slave-girl, and himself performed ghusl. And in the narration in which the words are (ghasala wa ightasala) (without tashdeed), its meaning is that he washed his head and washed his whole body as well, as is narrated from Tawus from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both).

Hadith 1759
Tawoos Al-Yemani says that I said to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them), "People think that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Take a bath on Friday and wash your head, even if you are not in a state of major impurity, and apply perfume.'" So Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) said, "About perfume, I do not know, but regarding the bath, what they say is correct."
