(202) بَابُ تَخْفِيفِ ثُبُوتِ الْإِمَامِ بَعْدَ السَّلَامِ لِيَنْصَرِفَ النِّسَاءُ قَبْلَ الرِّجَالِ، وَتَرْكِ تَطْوِيلِهِ الْجُلُوسَ بَعْدَ السَّلَامِ.
202| Chapter on the imam remaining briefly after salam to allow women to leave before men, and not sitting too long after salam
Hadith 1719
نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، وَيَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ ، قَالا : حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، وَقَالَ يَحْيَى : قَالَ : ثنا ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، أَخْبَرْتِنِي هِنْدُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ ، " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ مِنَ الصَّلاةِ لَمْ يَمْكُثْ إِلا يَسِيرًا , حَتَّى يَقُومَ " . قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ : فَنَرَى ذَلِكَ وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ ذَاكَ لِيَذْهَبَ النِّسَاءُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ أَحَدٌ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ . قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ حَكِيمٍ : لَمْ يَلْبَثْ إِلا يَسِيرًا
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) finished the prayer with salam, he would sit for a short while before standing up. Imam Zuhri says that in our opinion, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did this so that the women could leave before any man exited. And Allah knows best. In the narration of Yahya bin Hakeem, it is mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would stay for a very short time.
