Hazrat Abdullah bin Suwaid Ansari narrates from his paternal aunt, who was the respected wife of Sayyiduna Abu Humayd Al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him), that she presented herself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I like to perform prayer (in congregation) with you." Upon this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "I know that you like to perform prayer (in congregation) with me, although your prayer in your small room is better than your prayer in your large room (or outer room), and your prayer in your large room is better than your prayer in your courtyard, and your prayer in your courtyard is better than your prayer in your tribe's mosque, and your prayer in your tribe's mosque is better than your prayer in my mosque. Therefore, upon their instruction, a mosque was made for her in the farthest and darkest part of her house, so she used to pray in that mosque until she met Allah, i.e., passed away."
And her prayer in the mosque of her people is better than her prayer in the mosque of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, even though a prayer in the mosque of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is equivalent to a thousand prayers in other mosques. And the evidence that the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "A prayer in this mosque of mine is better than a thousand prayers in any other mosque," he intended it for the prayer of men, not the prayer of women.
