Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah
جماع أبواب العذر الذى يجوز فيه ترك إتيان الجماعةChapters on Excuses Permitting Missing Congregation
(161) بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنْ إِتْيَانِ الْمَسْجِدِ لِآكِلِ الثُّومِ، وَالْبَصَلِ، وَالْكُرَّاثِ إِلَى أَنْ يَذْهَبَ رِيحُهُ.
161| Chapter on the prohibition of attending the mosque for one who has eaten garlic, onions, or leeks until the smell is gone
Hadith 1669
نا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى ، نا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ بَكْرِ بْنِ سَوَادَةَ ، أَنَّ أَبَا النَّجِيبِ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ حَدَّثَهُ ، أَنَّ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ ، ذُكِرَ عِنْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الثُّومُ وَالْبَصَلُ وَالْكُرَّاثُ ، وَقِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، وَأَشَدُّ ذَلِكَ كُلِّهِ الثُّومُ ، أَفَتُحَرِّمُهُ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " كُلُوهُ ، وَمَنْ أَكَلَهُ مِنْكُمْ ، فَلا يَقْرَبْ هَذَا الْمَسْجِدَ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ رِيحُهُ مِنْهُ "
Sayyiduna Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that in the gathering of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), mention was made of garlic, onion, and wild leek, and it was submitted, “O Messenger of Allah, among all of these, garlic has the strongest odor. Do you declare it unlawful?” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “You may eat it, but whoever has eaten it should not come to our mosque until its smell has gone away.”
