(156) بَابُ النَّهْيِ عَنْ إِتْيَانِ الْمَسَاجِدِ لِآكِلِ الثُّومِ.
156| Chapter on the prohibition of attending mosques for one who has eaten garlic
Hadith 1664
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَزِيزٍ ، أَنَّ سَلامَةَ بْنَ رَوْحٍ حَدَّثَهُمْ ، حَدَّثَنِي عُقَيْلٌ ، وَقَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ : حَدَّثَنِي عَطَاءُ بْنُ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، أَنَّ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ زَعَمَ ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَنْ أَكَلَ ثُومًا أَوْ بَصَلا فَلْيَعْتَزِلْنَا ، أَوْ لِيَعْتَزِلْ مَسْجِدَنَا ، وَلْيَقْعُدْ فِي بَيْتِهِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has eaten (raw) garlic or onion should keep away from us, or stay away from our mosque, and remain in his house."
