Sayyiduna Mughirah bin Shu’bah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that after seeing two things from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), I will not ask anyone about them. We were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he went to relieve himself. Then he returned, performed ablution, wiped over his forehead and both sides of his turban, and wiped over his leather socks as well. (The second thing is that) it is permissible for the Imam to pray behind someone from his community. I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey, and the time for prayer came, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) could not reach them after relieving himself. The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) established the prayer and put forward Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), so he had led them in some part of the prayer when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed the remainder of the prayer behind Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him). Then, when Ibn Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) finished the prayer with salam, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and completed the missed part of his prayer. This is the narration of Junab al-Dawraqi. Whereas in the narration of Junab Abu Bishr, it is mentioned that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) went to relieve himself and asked for water, so I brought water in a vessel or a water-skin. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was wearing a cloak with tight sleeves, so he took his hands out from under the cloak and performed ablution, wiped over his leather socks, and wiped over his forehead and both sides of his turban. Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) came to the people late, and they had already established the prayer. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says: If this hadith is proven with this chain, that is, in the chain of Abu Bishr, Ibn Sirin says: “Amr bin Wahb narrated to me” (that Amr bin Wahb narrated to me, thus he has clearly stated his hearing). But in the chain of Hammad bin Zayd, Ibn Sirin says: “A man known as Abu Abdullah narrated to me from Amr bin Wahb.” (That is, in this chain, between Ibn Sirin and Amr bin Wahb, there is an unknown person named Abu Abdullah.)
Hadith 1646
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the prayer is established, come to the prayer in a state of calmness and dignity. Then, whatever part of the prayer you catch, perform it, and whatever you miss, complete it."
