Hadith 1637
Abu Al-Aliyah Abra’ (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Ibn Ziyad delayed the prayer, so Abdullah bin Samit came to me. I gave him a chair and he sat on it. Then I told him about Ibn Ziyad’s action. He bit his lips, then struck his hand on my thigh and said: I had asked Abu Dharr Al-Ghifari (may Allah be pleased with him) the same question as you have asked me, so he struck my thigh just as I have struck yours, and said: Indeed, I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) the same question as you have asked me, so he struck my thigh just as I have struck yours, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Perform the prayer at its (prescribed) time. Then if you catch the prayer (in congregation) with these rulers, then pray (with them), and do not say: Indeed, I have already prayed, so I will not pray (again).” This is the narration of Bundar, and in the narration of Yahya bin Hakeem, it is mentioned that he bit both his lips.
