(115) بَابُ الرُّخْصَةِ فِي تَخْفِيفِ الْإِمَامِ الصَّلَاةَ لِلْحَاجَةِ تَبْدُو لِبَعْضِ الْمَأْمُومِينَ بَعْدَمَا قَدْ نَوَى إِطَالَتَهَا.
115| Chapter on the concession for the imam to shorten the prayer due to a need after intending to lengthen it
Hadith 1610
نا بُنْدَارٌ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لأَدْخُلُ فِي الصَّلاةِ ، فَأُرِيدُ إِطَالَتَهَا ، فَأَسْمَعُ بُكَاءَ الصَّبِيِّ ، فَأَتَجَوَّزُ فِي صَلاتِي ، مِمَّا أَعْلَمُ مِنْ وَجْدِ أُمَّهِ مِنْ بُكَائِهِ "
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "When I begin the prayer, I intend to make it long, but then I hear the cry of a child, so I shorten my prayer, because I know that his crying causes distress to his mother."
