(114) بَابُ تَخْفِيفِ الْإِمَامِ الْقِرَاءَةَ لِلْحَاجَةِ تَبْدُو لِبَعْضِ الْمَأْمُومِينَ.
114| Chapter on the imam shortening the recitation due to a need of some followers
Hadith 1609
نا بِشْرُ بْنُ هِلالٍ الصَّوَّافُ ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سُلَيْمَانَ الضُّبَعِيَّ ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ الْبُنَانِيُّ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَسْمَعُ بُكَاءَ الصَّبِيِّ مَعَ أُمَّهِ ، فَيَقْرَأُ بِالسُّورَةِ الْقَصِيرَةِ ، أَوِ الْخَفِيفَةِ "
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) would hear the sound of a child crying with his mother (during prayer), he (peace and blessings be upon him) would recite a short or light surah.
