(66) بَابُ فَضْلِ الصَّفِّ الْأَوَّلِ وَالْمُبَادَرَةِ إِلَيْهِ.
66| Virtue of the first row and hastening to it
Hadith 1553
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ الْمُخَرِّمِيُّ ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَدِمْتُ الْمَدِينَةَ فَلَقِيتُ أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ . وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ ، نا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ ، نا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَصِيرٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : عُدْنَا أُبَيَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , وَقَالا : " إِنَّ الصَّفَّ الْمُقَدَّمَ عَلَى مِثْلِ صَفِّ الْمَلائِكَةِ ، وَلَوْ تَعْلَمُونَ فَضِيلَتَهُ لابْتَدَرْتُمُوهُ "
Abu Basir narrates that when I came to Madinah Munawwarah, I met Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him). In another narration, it is mentioned that we visited Sayyiduna Ubayy bin Ka'b (may Allah be pleased with him) during his illness, and he narrated a hadith from the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Both narrators further stated these words: "Indeed, the first row is like the row of angels. And if you knew its virtue, you would try to outdo one another to attain it."
