(52) بَابُ تَقَدُّمِ الْإِمَامِ عِنْدَ مَجِيءِ الثَّالِثِ إِذَا كَانَ مَعَ الْمَأْمُومِ الْوَاحِدِ.
52| The imam stepping forward when a third person joins the single follower
Hadith 1536
أنا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى الصَّدَفِيُّ ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُكَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ خَالِدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ وَهُوَ ابْنُ أَبِي هِلالٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : دَخَلْتُ عَلَى جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَا ، وَأَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، فَوَجَدْنَاهُ قَائِمًا يُصَلِّي عَلَيْهِ إِزَارٌ ، فَذَكَرَ بَعْضَ الْحَدِيثِ ، وَقَالَ : " أَقْبَلْنَا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَخَرَجَ لِبَعْضِ حَاجَتِهِ ، فَصَبَبْتُ لَهُ وَضُوءًا ، فَتَوَضَّأَ فَالْتَحَفَ بِإِزَارِهِ ، فَقُمْتُ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ، فَجَعَلَنِي عَنْ يَمِينِهِ ، وَأَتَى آخَرُ ، فَقَامَ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ، فَتَقَدَّمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّي ، وَصَلَّيْنَا مَعَهُ ، فَصَلَّى ثَلاثَ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بِالْوِتْرِ "
Sayyiduna Umar bin Saeed narrates that I and Abu Salamah bin Abdur Rahman presented ourselves before Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them). We found him praying in a single lower garment. Then he narrated some hadith and said: We came with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), so he went to relieve himself. I poured water for him, so he performed ablution, then wrapped himself in his lower garment. I stood on his left side, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) made me stand on his right side. Then another person came and stood on his left side. Therefore, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stepped forward and led the prayer, and we prayed with him. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performed thirteen rak‘ahs including Witr.
