(40) بَابُ الزَّجْرِ عَنْ إِمَامَةِ الْمَرْءِ مَنْ يَكْرَهُ إِمَامَتَهُ
40| Warning against leading those who dislike the imam
Hadith 1518
نا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، نا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ ، وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ الْهُذَلِيِّ : أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " ثَلاثَةٌ لا تُقْبَلُ مِنْهُمْ صَلاةٌ ، وَلا تَصْعَدُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ ، وَلا تُجَاوِزُ رُءُوسَهُمْ : رَجُلٌ أَمَّ قَوْمًا وَهُمْ لَهُ كَارِهُونَ ، وَرَجُلٌ صَلَّى عَلَى جَنَازَةٍ وَلَمْ يُؤْمَرْ ، وَامْرَأَةٌ دَعَاهَا زَوْجُهَا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَأَبَتْ عَلَيْهِ "
It is narrated from Ata bin Dinar Hudhali that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The prayer of three persons is not accepted, nor does it ascend towards the sky, nor does it rise above their heads: The person who leads a people in prayer while they dislike him; the person who offers the funeral prayer without being asked; and the woman whose husband calls her at night and she refuses."
Hadith 1519
نا عِيسَى بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، نا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، يَرْفَعُهُ يَعْنِي : مِثْلَ هَذَا . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ : أَمْلَيْتُ الْجُزْءَ الأَوَّلَ وَهُوَ مُرْسَلٌ ؛ لأَنَّ حَدِيثَ أَنَسٍ الَّذِي بَعْدَهُ حَدَّثَنَاهُ عِيسَى فِي عَقِبِهِ ، يَعْنِي بِمِثْلِهِ ، لَوْلا هَذَا لَمَا كُنْتُ أُخَرِّجُ الْخَبَرَ الْمُرْسَلَ فِي هَذَا الْكِتَابِ
Amr bin Waleed narrates from Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) a narration similar to the one mentioned above, which Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates as marfu‘. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I have written down the first part of the hadith even though it is mursal, because the following hadith of Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) is similar to it, which ‘Isa has narrated to us. If this narration did not exist, I would not have mentioned a mursal narration in my book.
