And the explanation of the evidence that she was commanded to go out only to witness goodness and virtue and to participate in the supplication of the Muslims.
Hadith 1467
It is narrated from Sayyidah Umm ‘Atiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to take out young unmarried veiled girls and menstruating women on the day of ‘Eid (towards the ‘Eid ground). However, menstruating women would stay apart from the ‘Eid prayer area and would participate in goodness and the supplications of the Muslims. One of those women asked, “If one of us does not have a cloak, what should she do?” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “Her sister should lend her one of her cloaks.”
